スーパーカミオカンデにおけるニュートリノの研究†

スーパーカミオカンデは、岐阜県飛騨市の東京大学宇宙線研究所附属神岡宇宙素粒子研究施設の地下1000mの実験サイトに設置されている、宇宙と素粒子の研究を行うための水チェレンコフ型観測装置です。検出器は50000トンの純水と約11000本の直径50cmの光電子増倍管で構成されています。核子崩壊探索や天体ニュートリノ観測を行う目的では世界最大の検出器です。

私は主に低エネルギーニュートリノ事象の研究を行っています。特に太陽ニュートリノの研究に携わって来ました。 スーパーカミオカンデでのニュートリノ研究に関しては、スーパーカミオカンデの公式サイトに詳しい説明があります。

• 2012.01.28 スーパーカミオカンデ検出器の写真が米国物理学会(APS)の「Physics Images」に選ばれました。参考(APS) スーパーカミオカンデはT2K実験の後方検出器として活躍しています。
